Discover what makes a stay at
The Farmhouse so special
|
Originally created by a rich slate miner, The Farmhouse has been lovingly preserved with just three owners since 1771.
Dark wooden beams, slate flooring mined from the mountains of Morzine and original farmhouse features have been left wonderfully exposed in rooms which include a former cobbler’s shop, carpenters workshop, seamstresses and the town’s only prison cell.
Once inside The Farmhouse doors, guests often say it feels less like a hotel, and more like a secret party in an exquisite house.
From the charming bedrooms, decorated with unique antiques and furnishings, to the sumptuous deep leather chairs by the roaring log fire in the bar, and the piano that begs to be played in the sitting room, The Farmhouse has a personal feel throughout.
This supremely comfortable space invites you to step back from the world and enjoy the best things in life.
British owner for nearly 30 years, Dorrien, along with his wife Di and manager James, create a close-knit team with a wealth of experience and passion.
From the heavenly breakfast each morning, to the ski itinerary advice and private shuttle service to the lifts, every effort is made to ensure your stay is exceptional.
Charming, dedicated and highly efficient, the team at The Farmhouse ensure service is sharp, polished and there whenever you need it.
“From the minute you are collected from airport to being returned, you are looked after with first class service, first class staff, first class food and great fun times.”
Jenny, UK January 2020“Following a terrific day’s snowboarding, every evening we were spoilt rotten. The friendships you develop over that candlelit table and then on the magnificent slopes of Morzine, Les Gets, Chatel and Avoriaz will be ones that I believe will last a lifetime.”
Andy, UK March 2017“The oldest building in this delightful alpine town feels like a home from home. My favourite room is the Old Kitchen at the top of the stairs on the right. Stay here and you will want to return again and again”
Georgina, UK September 2015If you try and picture a beautiful charming character filled bnb I’m pretty sure you’d be imagining the Farmhouse. I was blown away by the beauty and some of the original features of the house.

We stayed in the Mazot – a luxurious old timbered building in the beautiful gardens. we felt like Hansel and Gretel in the woods ! The breakfast is one of the best I have had in all my years of travel
The bar is the heart of the building and the perfect place to relax after skiing, with comfortable furniture and a large open fireplace.
Whether you’re looking for a brew or fresh coffee, a bone dry Martini before dinner, or to open a bottle of champagne or some big wines from our cellar, the bar befits every mood.
Many exuberant evenings of good friends and excellent wine have started here.
Over the winter months, served in our atmospheric dining room, dinner is a relaxed, yet indulgent affair, with a seasonal 4-course menu and home-grown produce taken from our garden.
Seating is restaurant style; dine as a family, join tables with other guests or enjoy an intimate evening for two, our charming dining room allows for all possibilities.
Skiers wake up to a hearty hot breakfast in winter, and summer guests graze on a refreshing continental buffet-style breakfast.
Our secluded gardens are wonderful in the summer months. Guests enjoy a game of Pétanque, participate in a yoga class, or simply relax with a good book against the stunning mountain backdrop.
Taking an early evening drink in the garden is another joy to behold on a summer’s evening at The Farmhouse.
Our main lawn with a stunning view over the church spire towards the Avoriaz mountains is a magical spot for private parties and weddings.
“My wife and I spent three lovely nights in the Blue room during a cycling vacation in the Haute-Savoie. James and his staff are welcoming and generous, the facilities are charming, and there’s easy access to the great cycling routes around Morzine.”
Spencer UK September 2016“This hotel is the oldest building in Morzine and, thankfully, was saved from becoming a museum! Instead it is now a charming hotel with a fantastic staff and excellent service. Congratulations to everyone who has had a hand in making this a splendid place to stay”
A K September 2016“My wife and I stayed in The Mazot out in the garden and it was a tranquil haven from the bustle of central Morzine, yet only minutes away. Can’t fault anything and James and all the staff were very helpful. The tonic and gins are particularly recommended!”
Steve UK August 2015Despite it’s tucked away location in Morzine’s old town, The Farmhouse is a short 5 minute stroll from the town’s bustling centre with its ice rink, bars, boutiques and boulangeries.
Close-by you can also find the Parc des Dérêches, a swimming complex with a 25m pool, kids paddling area and spa.
A year-round calender of festivals and events, including an enchanting array of Christmas productions, means the town is often buzzing with life.
The Portes du Soleil’s varied terrain and snowparks tick all the boxes for beginner through to advanced level skiers and snowboarders.
Morzine offers world-class ski tuition, from the huge ESF operation to smaller independent outfits, so whether you’re looking for a first week in ski school or your own private off-piste guide, its always possible to find something that matches your needs.
Unlike many other ski resorts, Morzine stays open all summer, and boasts a serious selection of activities, from biking (on road or trail) to paragliding, trail running, watersports and much more.
