Tell us a little bit about you and the store.
“We have been running for 5 years and started because of the limited road bike rentals available in Morzine. At first we started just renting to our Buzz Performance clients and have expanded the business each year since. We have been based in Francois Baud Freeride for 3 years and will be moving to our own premises in 2021. Our business specialises in road bikes and I believe we are the only road bike specific shop in the area.“
Do you have a workshop for repairs and servicing?
“Yes we do. I am a UCI trained bike mechanic and am available for all repairs and servicing, specialising in road bikes.“
What hire bikes are you offering this summer?
“We have a fleet of Pearson Hammer and Tongs and I’mNotNumbers, all carbon and all Shimano gearing.“
What is your most popular hire bike?
“Pearson Hammer and Tongs with Shimano Ultegra.”
What is the most common repair you undertake?
“I’d say a bent derailleur hanger and brake pad change.”
What is your favourite thing about running a bike shop in Morzine?
“We love bikes, so getting to work on things we love.”
What is your favourite road ride in the Portes du Soleil?
“That’s a tough one. It changes all the time. We really love the Joux Plane and Joux Verte but also enjoying the Montée d’Avoriaz climb lately too!”

“The Buzz Performance Razzamataz loop, we can’t tell you too much, but hit us up for more details, it has lots of cols with and AZ in the name 🙂“

Owner Adam acquired the store in 2017 and has taken it from strength to strength. Located along Route de la Plagne Alpine Sports has a selection of both road and mountain bikes on offer.
Tell us a little bit about you and the store.
“After holidaying in Morzine and the surrounding area for many years I eventually took the plunge and moved here full time. I bought the store 4 years ago and never looked back. We have two of the best mechanics in Morzine who go above and beyond to ensure our bikes are in the best possible condition and the work they carry out is beyond professional. We are a ski shop during the winter and skiing is my passion but everyone here loves to cycle.“
Do you have a workshop for repairs and servicing?
“Yes we have full workshop facilities with two incredible mechanics. Wheel building is a particular speciality of the guys in the workshop.“
What hire bikes are you offering this summer?
“Road and mountain bikes from Trek, GT and Cannondale. We have a great range of models and sizes, we have electric bikes too so just get in touch for more details and advice“
What is your most popular hire bike?
“Cannondale Synapse and Trek Dauphine for road bikes and all the Treks are popular on the mountain bike side of things.”
What is the most common repair you undertake?
“We bleed a lot of brakes on the mountain bikes. The descents here are long and can be hard on the brakes. We take a lot of care of the brakes on our hire bikes, they are pretty important after all.“
What is your favourite thing about running a bike shop in Morzine?
“Meeting people from all over the world, helping them out with their bikes and sharing our passion for cycling.“
What is your favourite road ride in the Portes du Soleil?
“Col de la Joux Verte or Col de Joux Plane over to Samoens and back. The Joux Verte is a gorgeous ride, up past Lake Montriond and up into Les Lindarets playing chicken with the goats. Then up through the forest to Avoriaz and back down the hairpins into Morzine.“
What trail or road ride do you recommend to customers the most?
“Most probably a road cycling route that starts in Morzine and descends down the valley through Saint Jean d’Aulps and to La Vernaz. You take a left and head over the hills to Mieussy then across to Taninges. Then taking the quieter back road up towards Les Gets and then along to Morzine. It’s a great loop with no severe climbs or descents so it’s great for everyone.“
