Colorful Summer Wedding in Morzine – Marion & Damien’s Story
Marion and Damien have visited Morzine many times during the summer months ever since they holidayed in the alpine resort five years ago. Finding a home from home in the village, the couple love the friendly nature of the people, the relaxed atmosphere and beautiful landscapes all around.
After the engagement the couple very quickly concluded they didn’t want to spend their special day anywhere other than Morzine.
The Search For The Perfect Wedding Venue in Morzine
When Marion and Damien decided to get married in Morzine they wanted to find a special and unique venue for the big day. They started with some online research and soon came across a wonderful photograph of a garden with a stunning view.
When the couple hired a wedding planner and showed her the photograph, she of course knew exactly where it was. The Farmhouse of course! A magnificent building with a large garden right at the heart of Morzine. Quiet and tranquil yet close to everything, a real slice of paradise.
The beautiful building and the lovely garden with the stunning backdrop were enough to seal the deal for Marion and Damien. The Farmhouse was booked and the date was set for early summer 2020. Of course in March 2020 the Covid 19 pandemic reared its ugly head and caused some significant complications for the couple’s wedding. Fortunately the team at The Farmhouse were able to be flexible and the wedding was rescheduled a few times, but finally a date in July was set.
A Magical Photoshoot At Lake Montriond
On the morning of the wedding, Marion was helped into her dress and assisted with her hair and make-up by her bridesmaids in the beautiful suite at The Farmhouse.
Once she was ready, the wonderful Reuben from Eight Bells Wedding Photography whisked the couple up to the stunning Lake Montriond for an exclusive photo shoot.
Reuben has an eye for detail and was able to capture the couple in all their splendor set against a breathtaking alpine backdrop. These photos will be a truly unique way for the couple to look back upon their special day for years to come.
The Wedding Fashion
Damien chose a fitted blue suit with bow tie and capped the outfit off with a simple floral buttonhole piece
It was love at first sight for Marion when she found her dress. After trying on many dresses when Marion found the one she was smitten. Overwhelmed with emotion when she saw herself in the mirror she knew it was the dress and didn’t want to take it off. Wearing simple loosely curled hair and a handcrafted pearl hair piece to complete the look.
The Ceremony
The couple carried out the civil part of their wedding in February in the town hall of their hometown. They wanted a beautiful secular ceremony outside in the lovely garden of The Farmhouse.
It was a beautiful warm sunny day in Morzine and a double banking of chairs carefully laid out across the lawn formed the ceremonial aisle. A friend was their officiant and thanks to her and their guests they had a wonderful ceremony filled with surprises and tender moments from their nearest and dearest.
A local two piece band played during the ceremony and continued to serenade the guests during the cocktail reception providing lively and fun ambience.
The Party
After the ceremony, the celebrations continued in the beautiful garden grounds of The Farmhouse. Drinks and canapes were served to the sounds of the band throughout the afternoon before dinner was served in the beautifully decorated dining room.
Marion had scoured flea markets and antique shops looking for vases and table decorations. She found some beautiful pieces that complimented the room’s decor perfectly with wooden elements and natural greenery. The decoration was topped off with lots of fairy lights creating a magical feel to the room.
