Our Story

James and Eve first met each other in London in 2014 whilst working for the same company.

After being friends for a number of years they became a couple and when James proposed in January 2022, there was only one place they envisaged tying the knot, surrounded by all their friends and family.

As a youngster, James learnt to ski in Morzine and has many fond memories from his ski trips with the family in the winter months and cycling trips with his dad during the summer.

James and Eve have subsequently shared many happy holidays together in Morzine. On one of their favourite trips, they cycled up the Col de Joux Plane, a very rewarding and memorable trip for both James and Eve.

It’s rather apt that The Farmhouse is located next to the start of this very climb. It is why we hope our friends and family can join us here to celebrate the beginning of our married life together.

When & Where

Our wedding will be held at The Farmhouse – a fairy-tale location at the heart of Morzine, in the French Alps.

How To Get There

The Farmhouse is at 75 minute drive from Geneva, and it is a straightforward journey from Geneva Airport or central railway station by one of the following options:

  • Geneva in Switzerland is the closest international airport. It’s a 1 hour 15 minute drive from Morzine.

The easiest way to get from Geneva Airport is by booking a return transfer, this will drop you directly to your chosen accommodation in Morzine.

We recommend booking the transfer service via this link to receive a 10% rebate on their published rates.

Alternatively, Lyon airport, in France is 2 hours 15 minutes away.

If you wish to hire a car from the airport instead, there are many companies located at Geneva Airport. Please note, there is both a Swiss and a French side of the airport – It is usually more cost effective to hire a car from the French side of the airport but it would be worth checking both sets of operators just in case.

  • You might decide to rent a car from the airport or drive all the way to Morzine. If your accommodation has limited parking space, we can recommend the following car parks, all a few minutes walking distance from The Farmhouse:

    Parking Joux Plane

    Parking du Bourg

    Parking de l’Office de Tourisme

Questions & Answers

  • Whilst we love them dearly, we are planning an adult-only wedding on the Saturday (with the exception of babes in arms) although children are very welcome to join on the Friday and Sunday.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.

  • We plan to celebrate outside on the grass and under a stretch tent.

There will be a contingency in the case of rain.

  • No. We recommend using the link above to book a transfer from the airport. The transfer will be directly door to door.

Morzine itself is a small town and most activities can easily be reached on foot. There is a free shuttle bus that takes you around the town and to nearby resorts.

The only activity out of town is the lake on Sunday. We are providing transport for everyone attending the lake day. Simply RSVP yes and we will arrange.

  • Our favourite restaurants in the main town include:

    • Restaurant La Chamade
    • La Chaudanne
    • Restaurant la Rotonde
    • Restaurant La Flamme
    • La Ferme de la Fruitiere
    • Restaurant L’Étale

    Bars include:

    • Templin Bar
    • Bec Jaune Brewery
    • Le Coup de Coeur
    • Les Rhodos
    • Café Chaud
    • Sherpa
    • Dixie Bar
    • Tibetan Café
    • Cavern Club
    • Le Cayote Bar
    • Alpine Lounge
  • Wedding Day – Formal wear suitable for a summer garden celebration.

    Friday and Sunday – Casual

  • No. We are conscious that many people have had a very long way to travel.

We are thankful that you are attending our wedding and this is the biggest gift you can give us. We do not wish for any other gifts.

  • We plan to visit the lake on Sunday to cure any hangovers and make the most of the fresh alpine air!

Return transportation, soft furnishings and a selection of snacks/beverages will be provided for those who wish to visit the lake.

In the late afternoon/evening we are planning a BBQ which will be accessible from the main town.

Where to stay?

The Farmhouse is the perfect place to stay and it is fully reserved for our wedding. Unfortunately, it is not big enough to host everyone.

There are plenty of alternative hotels very close to the Farmhouse. Here are a few recommendations which are walking distance from the wedding location:

Le Sporting – 2min
La Clef des Champs – 3min
La Bergerie – 7min
Champs Fleuris – 7min
Le Samoyède – 7min

For groups, there are some great options on Air bnb for those that may want to stay together.
