Our Story

We would love you to join us in the mountains to celebrate our wedding on Saturday 2nd August 2025.

We’ve been together for five years now and met through our best friends, Meg and Andy, in November 2019. Over the years we’ve traveled quite a bit but we return to Morzine each year!

Joe skied in Morzine every year with Andrea, Steve and Emma and did four seasons completing ski instructor training there. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them Alex was only down the road in Chambéry spending time with Françoise and family!

This area became even more special in August 2023 when Joe decided to propose in nearby Chamonix! Therefore, Morzine seemed the ideal location to tie the knot. We have had some of our happiest times in and around Morzine together with our friends and family and
can’t wait to share such a special place with you all.

When & Where

We’re delighted to say our wedding will be held at The Farmhouse Mas De La Coutettaz in the centre of Morzine in the French Alps.

The main event will take place on Saturday 2nd August 2025. We will be staying in Morzine either side of the wedding and have a few events planned. Please let us know in your RSVP which events you plan to join!

How To Get There

The Farmhouse is a 75 minute drive from Geneva, and it is a straightforward journey from Geneva Airport or central railway station by one of the following options:

  • Geneva in Switzerland is the closest international airport. It’s a 1 hour 15 minutes drive away from Morzine.

We recommend booking the transfer service. Skiidy Gonzales have given us a 15% discount code under if Dibb2025 is used either on the phone or online.

  • You might decide to rent a car from the airport or drive all the way to Morzine.

If your accommodation has limited parking space, we can recommend the following car parks, all a few minutes walking distance from The Farmhouse:

    Parking Joux Plane

    Parking du Bourg

    Parking de l’Office de Tourisme

Questions & Answers

  • There isn’t an official dress code but please do keep in mind Morzine is at 1000m altitude. As always in the mountains the weather can get very hot in the daytime but pretty fresh in the evening.

  • We’d love to celebrate with all of our guests and their children. Please do let us know in your RSVP so food can be organised accordingly.

  • We plan to celebrate the ceremony and drinks reception outside on the front lawn of The Farmhouse.

For dinner we will be outside but under a stretch tent with heaters.

There will be a contingency in case of poor weather.

  • Unfortunately, due to numbers only the wedding party are able to stay in The Farmhouse Mas De La Coutettaz. However, we highly recommend the following:

    Hotels:

    • Hotel Le Petit Dru – ££££
    • Hotel Samoyede – ££££
    • Hotel Le Sporting – £££
    • Hideout Hostel – £
    • Rhodos Hotel – ££
    • La Clef des Champs – ££££

    Self-Catering:

There are a number of options available for those wishing to stay in self-catering accommodation or with a group. We recommend AirBnB or Booking.com to find this kind of accommodation. Alternatively the following companies offer self-catered chalet accommodation:

    • Treeline Chalets
    • AliKats
    • Hunter
    • Simply Morzine
  • We appreciate that guests are traveling a long way to celebrate with us, for which we are extremely grateful. Therefore, we do not expect gifts. However, if you do still wish to give us a gift a contribution to our honeymoon would be gratefully received.

  • Renting a car is not necessary if you don’t wish to. We recommend using Skiidy Gonzales
for a transfer from the airport. Skiidy Gonzales have given us a 15% discount code under if Dibb2025 is used either on the phone or online.

Morzine is a small town and with the exception of the lake gathering on Sunday everything is easily accessible on foot from the town centre.

If you do decide to rent a car you can do so from the French or Swiss side of Geneva airport. Our experience is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from the airport to Morzine town centre.

  • Over the years we’ve had many excellent meals/evenings in Morzine.  Our favorites are:

    Restaurants:

    • Le Clin D’oeil
    • La Grange
    • Restaurant La Flamme
    • O’Chalet
    • Bon coin
    • L’improviste

    Bars:

    • Bec Jaune Brewery
    • Le Coup de Coeur
    • Hotel Samoyed Bar – Alex’s favourite!
    • Bar Le Crepu – Joe’s favourite!
    • Dixie Bar
